art guide

This September is full of exciting openings and events, this might be our biggest guide yet. There is only a few weeks left to see Elizabeth Alexander show at the Tracey Morgan Gallery, as well as it being the first month of Points In Space: Performance at Black Mountain College at the Black Mountain College Museum.

September also marks the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene. There are lots of events taking place in the RAD, such as RAD Resilience and downtown in Photos From Helene at Little Animals Gallery.  Kai Lendzion’s Where the Waters Fell, on Oak Street, offers a moving memorial to the lives and communities impacted by the storms. Have a look at our Events Worth A Roadtrip if you fancy getting out of town! An exhibition on the late Keith Haring opens at Columbia Museum of Art at the end of the month.

EVENTS WORTH A ROADTRIP

August is the last month to see acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz’s work at the Mint Museum Uptown in Charlotte. If you find yourself in SC, stop by the Columbia Museum of Art for their thoughtful curation Let’s Have a Talk featuring works from multigenerational black artists working around abstraction.
